1.07 · Peek into the Classroom

Let’s peek into three classrooms where workstation time is being used effectively: a Kindergarten classroom, a first grade classroom and a second grade classroom. These clips were filmed in the spring, when students had been in these teachers’ classrooms for 7 or 8 months. So, they offer a vision of what’s possible during literacy work stations when teachers have built an effective practice in the earlier months of the year.

Let’s watch each video a first time to get an initial impression.

As you watch, jot down your observations about each video. What do you find impressive or inspiring about the work these students are doing?
