Effective Literacy Workstations Professional Learning
Supports differentiated independent and teacher-led workstations
Effective workstations empower students to learn independently while teachers provide targeted instruction. This 9-session course prepares educators to launch and manage independent and teacher-led literacy stations that enable targeted instruction while maximizing student engagement and accountability.
I’ve seen so much growth from my students, not only academically, but as far as like their independence and just their engagement…they are literally excited every day when we finish our workstations to show me what they worked on.

FOR COACHES
SERP offers this course with an additional introductory session for coaches, along with a companion coaching guide. The digital version is included with a Coach license, or a printed version can be purchased.
A coach license provides access to the same 9 session course as the teacher license. However, a Session 0 introduces the course to coaches and provides access to a detailed coaching guide. Coaches can use the guide online, download the guide, or order a spiral bound copy.
The workstations course was an extremely valuable resource. The content was really easy to implement and the videos were engaging, focused, and applicable to our district-wide focus regarding the science of reading.

Word Work Station Kits
As a complement to this course, a set of activities were developed that can be used for the word work station in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. Word work is the workstation that is most demanding for teachers to plan, especially if the work is differentiated, which is best practice for supporting maximum student progress. The materials are explained in an optional section in Session 4 of the course. The materials can be purchased through SERP. While developed to directly complement the course, they are not necessary to complete the course.
